I Never Get Fishy Enough

Outside.
Smoky brains, smokily smoked by pot,
exhausting through the eyeholes of my top,
above the greenish fish tank that I am looking at,
which soon will be my wit container and habitat…
Motley alien fishes are playing in front of me.
That makes me eagerly squeeze my belly,
arching my back, attempting to jump

Inside.
Breathing underwater, I'm getting much calmer,
being a fish dressed in silverish, scaled armor.
Cannot remember how time is passing by,
nor how it feels to be completely dry.
Waving my tail, gliding around, I'm rather thrilled,
as flashes gush out from my body, suddenly skilled.
Yet, for some reason, this glam show confuses me,
as glitters come back, and everything I see
has a strange twin that stubbornly does
symmetrical moves, kaleidoscopic fuzz…
Intrigued and driven by a deep call of uniqueness,
I windingly approached my paired otherness,
wanting to understand what riddle do I have to deem…
Then boom! I brutally hit my head on some invisible screen!
Seeing my twin wincing just like me,
I grasped the mirror, preventing me from seeing

Outside.
Such clairvoyance one cannot get inside,
being content with mesmerizing, misleading eyesight.
That fish still hits the glass wall every time he turns,
because he just can't carry longer memory terms.
Seems happy, though, living in his shiny world,
believing that, for sure, he's spared by the underworld.
Time flows as I still gaze at the aquatic wonders,
contemplating each of the fish's fins' colors…
Smoke went away. Clean air is here to fill my lungs.
As mind gets sharper, I somehow feel that I belong

Inside.
